FRIENDS' FORUM

Membership notes

The Friends of the Motorboat Museum were formed in 1992 to provide practical support to Basildon District Council, who owned and ran the Museum. The Friends provided advice and a source of funding and materials for exhibition purposes, including boats, engines and archive documents. They are also a direct research data base for Museum staff and fellow enthusiasts. Their involvement extends to staging events and activities which supported the education programme for the Museum. The Museum closed in 2009 and the friends work stopped at this point.
